The Androni Giocattoli is the first successful Italian Team in 2011. The team conducted by Giovanni Savio, Marco Bellino and Giovanni Ellena, has in fact won the first stage of the Tour de San Luis, one of the most important races of the UCI American Tour, which also involved the winner of last year Giro d’Italia Ivan Basso. In the final sprint of 19 riders Roberto Ferrari overcome the Argentinean Maximiliano Richeze and the compatriot Jacobo Guarneri.

After winning with Roberto Ferrari in the first stage, the Androni team with Jose Serpa repeated in the second stage in first uphill finish at the Potrero de Fuenes. The Colombian climber, now leader of the race is ahead of the Italian Eros Capecchi and Marco Arriageada from Chile.
