The Androni Giocattoli
is the first successful Italian Team in 2011. The team conducted
by Giovanni Savio, Marco Bellino and Giovanni Ellena, has
in fact won the first stage of the Tour de San Luis, one of
the most important races of the UCI American Tour, which also
involved the winner of last year Giro d’Italia Ivan Basso.
In the final sprint of 19 riders Roberto Ferrari overcome
the Argentinean Maximiliano Richeze and the compatriot Jacobo
Guarneri.

After winning with Roberto Ferrari in the first stage, the
Androni team with Jose Serpa repeated in the second stage
in first uphill finish at the Potrero de Fuenes. The Colombian
climber, now leader of the race is ahead of the Italian Eros
Capecchi and Marco Arriageada from Chile.
THIRD SUCCESS IN ARGENTINA, FOR THE ANDRONI GIOCATTOLI
Third consecutive victory for the Androni Giocattoli at the
Tour de San Luis. Sprinter Roberto Ferrari winner of the first
stage, repeated himself at the stage of Villa Mercedes. Jose
Serpa winner of yesterday stage at Potrero de Funes, is still
the overall leader of the race. At the press conference, the
team manager Gianni Savio said: “We are convinced that we
set up a competitive team again, and we believe that the results
are showing. Congratulations to all the guys who have played
their roles with great professionalism. The three Androni
Giocattoli victories are really important if consider that
Pro Tour teams like the Italian Liquigas, Movistar from Spain
and the France Ag2R are present in this race, considered one
of the most prestigious in the American calendar.”
