Eamon Daly finished 4th round of the 2009 Dunlop Irish National Rally Championship with great results. Racing in his hometown of , Daly fought hard in front of family and friends for a outstanding 3rd place finish. In the 5th round, Daly was in a tight battle between the top 4 racers in the series and wound up in 3rd place. In Round 6, Daly was very steady throughout his run and claimed another 3rd place. Fortunes turned in Round 7 as Daly experienced a mechanical issues with his car. After working vigorously on the car, the engineers and Daly determined that the car’s mechanical problems would irreparable, therefore ending Daly’s race season.
Despite having to end the season early, Daly earned enough championship points in the season to claim 3rd place in the 2009 Dunlop Irish National Rally Championship final standings.
