Kenda sponsored LPGA
golfer Candie Kung recently participated on the HSBC LPGA Brasil
Cup held from May 29th to 30 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After
two rounds of fierce competition against top players on the
tour, Candie’s outstanding performance resulted with a final
score of 141 or -5 landing her in third place.
At the end of the first round, Candie shot a 71 leaving her
in fourth place. On the 18th hole of the second round, Candie
birdied the difficult par 5 to enter the club house tied with
the leaders Meaghan Francella and Mariajo Uribe. However, both
Francella and Uribe both birdied 18 also to force a playoff
between the two while Candie ended up just short in 3rd place.
With Candie’s great performance at the HSBC Brasil Cup, she
has moved up to 21st place in 2010 official money list of the
LPGA. With her performance overall this year, Candie has qualified
for the upcoming LPGA US Open at Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh,
PA, which will be played late June. Teresa Lu, the other Kenda
sponsored LPGA golfer has also qualified for the US Open, the
most prestigious LPGA tournament in the United States. Kenda
would like to congratulate Candie on her great performance and
wish her future successes on the LPGA!
