KENDA supports families of Typhoon Morakot victims  (2009-08-31)
A couple weeks ago, Morakot ravaged the small island of Taiwan. With hundreds still missing and possibly up to 100 billion NT (3.4 billion US dollars) in damage, Taiwan has not experienced such a disaster for over 50 years. Flooding from nonstop rain caused the most damage in southern Taiwan (Pingtung, Kaohsiung, Tainan, and Chiayi) leaving many people homeless.
While Kenda, located in central Taiwan suffered some minor flood damage, the company and its employees quickly gathered resources to offer help to the victims of the south. From collecting can foods to gathering clothes, Kenda employees did anything they could to help their fellow country men/women in need. Kenda employees also donated a day’s salary to the victims totaling over half a million NT dollars to donate to the disaster relief fund. The Kenda group matched and added even more bringing the total to 10 million NTD to help the rescue and rebuilding process. With efforts from around the island and around the world, we all pray for a speedy recovery to cities damaged by the Typhoon.
